In September 2014 Turiba University in cooperation with 3 partner Universities – Vilnius University, Tallinn University of Technology and University of Genoa, started to implement Erasmus Strategic Partnership project.

During the previous IP project “Mediation in Civil and Criminal cases to Foster European Wide Settlements of Disputs” (2013 – 2014) the partner universities came to the conclusion that the students in EU countries and governmental and non-governmental organizations working in judicial sector lack academic and practical study materials and a comprehensive book on mediation. Therefore the project team decided to gather information on needs of involved benefiting institutions and bodies to be address during the particular project. The project team aimed at drafting of widely used and publicly available study materials and e-book on mediation.

The objective of this project was to create a multinational network of academics to elaborate close cooperation team, to prepare teaching materials for mediation studies and to organize mediation course for multinational group of students which helped to test and improve developed materials. In the 2nd part of the project all study materials and articles elaborated by the team of academics were published in electronic book available in this platform. This project directly addressed the needs of three groups – students studying law and psychology, governmental organizations involved in justice keeping matters, NGOs protecting amicable settlement of disputes and academics teaching mediation course.

The umbrella aim was to create academic solid basis for popularization of mediation, thus minimizing a workload of courts in each Member State and promoting mediation as a method of alternative dispute resolution.

The project was implemented by the support of Erasmus+ Strategic Partnership Programmes’ project. Project Number: 2014-1-LV01-KA203-000506. Duration of the project: 2 years. Budget of the project: 95 362.00 Euro

All project materials, including E-Book are awailable in this webplatform.
