International Mediation Conference

„Gains and Benefits of Mediation in Modern World of Dispute Resolution”

Turiba University has the honor to invite you to the international conference to be held on April 11, 2019 on topical mediation issues. This conference is the gala event for the Erasmus Plus Strategic Partnership project “Online Study Platform on Mediation”, which was realized in a partnership of six universities The conference will reflect achievements reached during the project, as well as give floor for speakers practicing mediation.

Who should attend:
Practicing mediators and lawyers from private and public sector, policymakers, academics and students.

About the Conference
The conference will bring together speakers from eight countries -  Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, the Czech Republic, Austria, Italy, Bulgaria and Georgia, who will present practical and academically important aspects of mediation in today's dispute settlement world. This will be one of the largest mediation events of the year, during which it will be possible not only to discover modern mediation topics but also to meet personally professionals from the field of mediation and ask them questions during the conference.

The following topical issues will be presented in the conference:
-    development and tendencies of mediation at the European Union level,
-    cooperation between mediators and lawyers in dispute settlement,
-    protection of children's rights in mediation,
-    qualification requirements for mediators in Europe,
-    differences in the level of responsibility of mediators,
-    psychological aspects in mediation, etc.
The timing of the conference provides sufficient room for discussions, which thus facilitates the interactive communication among the audience and speakers. Mediators, lawyers, notaries, judges, academy teachers, representatives from NGOs, students, public administration officials, as well as all those interested in mediation are warmly welcome to the conference.
